Jim W. Brockardt, MBA

Founder

Jim Brockardt, spent his entire 45-year career assisting both the owners of public and private businesses and their professional advisors.  In 2005, two events bookended Jim’s 54th birthday sparking reactions from two different fellows of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. The first, the incorporation of BCG Valuations in August 2005, prompted a congratulatory, “It’s about time!” The second, Jim’s bilateral knee replacement surgery less than a year later, gave rise to a question, “Are you sure you want to do that in the first full year of your practice?” Both attorneys immediately spread the word to other professional advisors, who also became loyal referral sources.

Working on behalf of hundreds of clients in the areas of securities valuation, ownership planning and litigation support, he developed logical, credible and supportable stock, debt and partnership valuations used in the contexts of tax planning and filing, transactions in minority and controlling interests, fairness opinions, SEC compliance, marital and corporate litigation, shareholder communication and ESOPs, among others.  Jim testified as an expert in business valuation on more than two dozen occasions, including court appointments and on behalf of the Federal government.  Mr. Brockardt was an accredited and well-respected appraiser for 32 years.
