Matthew R. McCranor began his career with BCG Valuations as an intern in February 2011, and was promoted to valuation analyst in January 2012 and to senior valuation analyst in December 2016. His responsibilities include assisting clients and their advisors in every step of the valuation process, from due diligence sessions and management meetings through the fundamental security analysis and issuance of formal reports. His valuation analyses and reports are performed in the contexts of fairness opinions, mergers and acquisitions, litigation support, tax planning and ESOPs. His clients range from traditional newspaper publishers to pre-revenue tech startups and include all manners of companies in between, including general contractors, beverage manufacturers, security alarm services providers, drug development companies and defense contractors. He has been responsible for numerous valuation reports subject to the scrutiny of clients, attorneys, accountants and government agencies. Mr. McCranor has also assisted counsel in providing valuation and other services in support of civil litigation.

Mr. McCranor holds a BS in Business Administration, with a finance major, from Ramapo College of New Jersey, where he was also a collegiate athlete in the sport of soccer.

Prior to joining BCG, Mr. McCranor interned at the Hertz Corporation’s global headquarters. In this capacity, Mr. McCranor was responsible for auditing the company’s foreign and domestic annual bonus compensation plans. He worked closely with senior internal auditors and human resources to reconcile the plans, and provided insight and recommendations based on his analyses and assessments of the data at each step of the auditing process.

Mr. McCranor has earned the Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) designation in business valuation issued by the American Society of Appraisers. Currently, he is a board member of the Princeton Chapter of the American Society of Appraisers.

In his spare time, Matthew enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, watching sports, going to the movies, and working outside.
