As a valuation specialist, Mr. Lavergne has valued many closely held businesses, including firms in the healthcare, agricultural, petroleum, and construction industries, as well as professional practices.  He is adept at valuing pass-through entities and C corporations in various contexts.  His valuation analyses and reports are performed in the contexts of fairness opinions, solvency opinions, mergers and acquisitions, tax planning, and ESOPs, among others.

Mr. Lavergne holds the Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) credential issued by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and is a member of the AICPA.  He is a member of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA), and of that group’s Valuation, Forensic Accounting, & Litigation Services section (VFALS).  Mr. Lavergne was appointed by the VFALS Steering Committee to serve on its VFALS Resource Council for the 2007 - 2008 fiscal year.  He served on the Labor Committee of the Florida Fruit and Vegetable Association from 2012 to 2014.  He is also a member of the Louisiana Society of CPAs (LCPA).  He was selected to serve on the LCPA’s 2018-19 Forensic, Litigation & Valuation Services and the Estate & Financial Planning Committees.  Mr. Lavergne is a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA), an accreditation conferred by the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA).  He is a member of the Palm Beach Tax Institute, the Palm Beach County Estate Planning Council, the Greater Boca Raton Estate Planning Council and the New Orleans Estate Planning Council.

Mr. Lavergne began his career in 1975 and worked in public accounting in the areas of auditing, taxation and consulting.  In private industry, he has worked as a controller and CFO for oil and gas, construction and agricultural enterprises.  As CFO his responsibilities included all financial and fiscal management aspects of the companies, including accounting, treasury management, financial analysis, relationships with financial institutions, and quantitatively analyzing potential merger and acquisition opportunities.

Terrel Lavergne was on active duty with the U.S. Navy from 1967 to 1970.  He graduated from the University of Louisiana, Lafayette, in December, 1975 with a BSBA in Accounting.  He is a Certified Public Accountant (licensed in Florida and Louisiana).
