David Moomaw has been preparing business valuations for nearly 30 years, working closely with James W. Brockardt during much of this period. He has conducted hundreds of appraisals, including valuations of real estate holding companies, private investment partnerships, and operating companies in a variety of industries. His work has been performed in the contexts of income, estate and gift tax planning and filing, fairness opinions, stock redemptions, shareholder disputes, recapitalizations, S Corporation elections, due diligence, and general corporate planning. In these engagements, David has consulted with attorneys and accountants, as well as with businessowners. He has presented his valuation reports to corporate boards of directors and defended his valuation conclusions in discussions with the IRS.

For most of his valuation career, he was a Senior Valuation Analyst for a national valuation firm. In that role, David focused on business valuation for tax, litigation support and estate planning purposes.

David also spent six years as Vice President, Treasurer, and Director of Visual Education Corporation, a closely-held company located in Princeton, New Jersey.

After graduating from Allegheny College in 1971, David was on active duty in the U.S. Air Force, serving as an officer until 1975. He earned an MBA in finance and accounting from the University of Pittsburgh in 1976 and subsequently undertook post-graduate studies in finance at New York University.

David’s spare time activities include playing tennis, gardening, reading and taking long walks with his wife.
